i got asked to do a small workaround explaing what to do to start with a Virtual Server running your wallets. It could have many benefits to avoid using your own Machine for Wallets 24/7 so here is my tutorial.
STEP 1 – WHERE TO HOST
First of all you need a Hoster to run your Server – so far i got experiences with ZAP HOSTING.They are secure and its easy to setup and use a Server.
ZAP Hosting is setting up all VServers in german or english language – you can decide at your order.
Feel free to use the following 10% code on your orders:
You can pay on monthly base or use it as a Prepaid Server that you can cancel every month. The longer you pay at once the cheaper it will be for you.
STEP 2 – WHAT TO BUY
If you are familar with Linux and u made sure that the Coins you want to stake use a working Linux machine you might setup Ubuntu or CentOs, if you are not familar with Linux you really shall get a Windows Server. If you are having a Macintosh a Virtual Server might also help you to use every coin you like because only a couple of staking coins provide a solution for Macintosh.
About the Server-Settings:
You shall get the basic package of Zap, including a Ready to Use Windows installation with a Quadcore Processor, 25 GB SSD and 4 GB of RAM. Currently I can use around 10-15 Wallets parallel with one of the Servers.
STEP 3 – HOW TO CONNECT AND HOW TO USE A SERVER
Once you purchased the package of your choose you will receive (almost instant) acess to your new server and receive a Username, Password and IP Adress. Please use the default Windows Tool “Remote Desktop” to connect to your Server, you will be automatically logged in and see the default Windows Desktop you know from your local machine.
There is also an App called “RD Client” from which you can check your Server anytime, please get it at the following links from your Play/App Store:
Now you can acess your machine anytime you like.
Please DISABLE Windows Update on your Virtual Server to avoid that he will restart several times while you are staking. Please find some help under the following Link:
